Default OK I need some INPUT from you guys......

I was telling some of the people at Sunday School today about my photo that got in the top 20 for the SONY contest and they all suggested I take it and put a scripture on it and frame it and sell them. NOW I need some ideas for a good scripture to put on it.
What are your thoughts????

Perhaps this is worded differently in another version of the bible... I just did a search for "reflection" because that is what stood out to me about your shot.

1 Corinthians 13:12 (New International Version)

12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

My thought would be to sell it without scripture on it so that people can assign whatever spiritual meaning they want to it.

Why do I think this? I think that adding text can take away from the natural beauty and simplicity of a shot, especially if it's poorly done or done in a way that does not suit my own preferences. I also think that because to me the shot seems spiritual enough without adding an additional biblical reference. You could wind up selling more that way, because what if I like the shot because of the spirituality, but I don't like the bible verse (etc) But that's just me. So if you really are set on putting text on it, just ignore my opinion there

P.S. You must be absolutely dying to know how it did! You'll probably hardly sleep waiting for the results! lol

LOL you know yesterday I was all giddy wanting Monday to hurry up but funny as it may seem I haven't really given it much thought today.

Well the people at church want to get a copy with a nice scripture so I will try it that way for them and see how it does.
I was going to put it in a gold script font in the left area where it is kind of dark

Just a thought - I used to work at a cemetery *raises fist at "The Man"* and when people would die, the family would bring in a picture, which got added onto a stock photo of the sun, or a church, or a field, or flower or something, etc, the family got to pick a bible verse, and they could purchase 8x10s of that for like $25 EACH and they DID! It was insane... plus I knew I could do better than the guy doing it, but that's besides the point. Just a thought

Just another suggestion from the KJV:

Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Putting your own text on it for me, would totally take away from the image. It would remove the viewers own imagination on what it stood for. Let them decide in thier own minds.
Perhaps just a simple title would allow for the viewer to come to thier own conclusion

And God said, "Let there be light."

The quote is obviously taken out of context, but totally related to the photo as a reminder that the spirituality found in churgh (or temple, or mosque, or wherever) enlightens us.

Another thought, if you sell online, is to have an example of the photo with scripture and an way of personalizing the photo's quote to the one the purchaser wants.

I would also ask the folks at Sunday School what quotes they think go with the image and offer to sell the image witht he desired quote.

My 2 cents.
