I definately think that there is a line where a photo can cross over from being a photo to being digital art... and that's not a bad thing.

For me personally, I love adding surreal touches to my photos, but it doesn't mean that it works for every shot. I have some photos that have little to no editing (maybe a crop), but then I have some that are so worked over you couldn't pick the original image out of a line up. HA HA! Neither of these things are wrong or right, they just are.

Me editing my digital photos is not going to detract from someone who shoots with film. Each has their own beauty and purpose.

That's just my two cents...

Also...

So true! Software can do alot, but it cannot turn a steaming pile of slag into a masterpiece.

Art is art. I dont care who you are or what you say, nothing can change that fact.
I may not like what you do, you may not like what I do, doesnt mean it isnt art.
Doesnt matter what you use to create it, it's still art. Doesnt matter the color, texture or the means, it's still art!

No doubt I totally agree with you. I went to the Art Museum in Detroit and saw a plastic block that was neon green hanging on the wall that was considered Art.

If something as mundane and simple as a green block can get into a museum post processing images is truly a mute point.
