I tend to have either silly titles, or rather dull ones - depends on my mood on uploading/whether I can think of something rubbish/witty to put with the shot!

Got to say that I am drawn into certain shots by the name alone. Some people can describe shots in a way that just makes it so much better.

Hmm when I first got a digital camera I did rename things to just simple relative titles. ie. me.jpg and other ones would follow with a number me2.jpg etc.

Then I realised there wasn't much point, I just keep the original filename and sort them by dated and titled folders. They only get a name if they get uploaded on flickr, most snapshots it's something related, something else then it's whatever comes to mind at the time. Sometimes it's something witty, something plain or sometimes a quote or a song lyric that relates.

I tend not to title my photos, that way I can find them on my server. I have Lightroom categorize them and store them. I can search with tags that I put on them. I take a lot of shots, most of which never make it past uploading onto the server. Titling everyone of them would be an exercise in futility.

When I post them here, I try to title the thread to get people to look at the thread. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm not worried about it.

I can never think of decent titles for my photos so they just end up as "Fence" or "Berries". Still, it says what they are, at least. Not very creative though.

I started numbering my photos with my first digital camera at 0001. Each new camera progressed of course and I'd start at the nearest thousand, i.e. 2000... with my XTi I started numbering at 10000 - description.JPG. Find that format keeps things in chronological order and gives me a brief description when viewing in list view.
