Default I have a question about camera's @ concerts - help needed ASAP

Hi everyone, I am going to see AC/DC on Saturday and I hope to bring my Nikon L19 point & shoot camera in with me. I have phoned the venue, the security company and Ticketmaster and they all told me no professional camera's will be allowed in.

what worries me is that I can't find this posted anywhere on any of their websites and they don't seem to be too interested in letting people know about their camera policy.

I am worried that when I get to the gate on Saturday and they see my camera, they may not let it in. I believe a professional camera is one with detachable lenses and lenses 75 MM or more. I am trying to figure out what the lens size in MM my camera is.

do most venues allow point & shoot cameras in? this concert will be outdoors.

you should not have a problem with your P&S camera. Usually they don't want people bringing lenses that are over 12" in length. I doubt that any of the security people will consider a P&S a "professional" camera.

I doubt they will check the focal length - if it's a compact camera, you'll probably be ok. If you (or whoever else you're going with) is taking any type of bag, just put it in there as you go in.

You could of course stick it to them by bringing a P&S then get other people to bring in extension tubes etc. and get a nice close up.

thanks everyone.I will bring my point & shoot camera along with a disposable, if I get the digital into the concert, I will take the disposable back for a refund. What are your opinons on the disposable cameras? Do they take decent pictues in low light? I obviously won't be using flash.

I will try and post the AC/DC pictures if I get good ones.
