Hahahahhaha.....There's not a doubt in my mind that RAW is better. All you jpeg shooters......wake up and smell the coffee. If you can't see the difference now, switch a painting

I will sometimes shoot in jpeg if I am doing continuous shooting of fast moving action...I find with my camera (Nikon D50), the memory is not fast enough to keep up with the number of frames I am shooting if I am shooting in RAW. Shooting in jpeg means I am more likely to capture the image I want to keep.
Might not be a problem with a faster, bigger, newer camera.

If you are shooting something that requires you to shoot a lot of frames quickly then jpeg is much better than raw because your camera buffer can handle more jpeg files than raw files.

but mainly for me when I am just shooting a snap shot of something where I know that I will not be using the image for anything. Then I will shoot in jpeg cause I know I won't be processing the image or using it for anything really. I do this a lot when I am scouting locations for shoots.

See an interesting location.... click... voice/GPS tag location. save photo in my locations folder. Usually I just shoot low quality jpeg, small to minimize the amount of space it takes up. Why have a 15-20mb raw file that I have to use adobe bridge or lightroom to view when I can get away with a >1mb file that I can open up using any photo viewing program.

This past weekend I totally found out why raw is so awesome. It saved my butt!!! And PS4's raw editing program is bloody awesome. I had some seriously over-exposed pics I took down at the beach of a family of 4. I was panicking, but luckily had left my camera on "RAW+L" or whatever the setting is. One quick adjustment w/ the PS4 raw editor and they were perfect! I'll never NOT shoot raw again!
