Default Picture in National Geographic Explorer

Here's an email I received today
Dear Mr. Bryant,

I hope this email finds you well. *I have a rather lengthy request that I'm hoping you can help with. *According to our records, one of your images was published in the Jan-Feb 2009 issue of National Geographic Extreme Explorer. *I've included information about the image below:

Picture Number: 9956600
Picture Description: T. rex model from "Walking with Dinosaurs" exhibit
Submitter: Digital Railroad
Credit Line: UPI/Drr.net
Story Title: Dinosaurs in Motion
Issue: January - February 2009
Original Magazine: NG Extreme Explorer
Page Number: 21 bottom
Size: 1/2 page
Rate: $200

The image was originally licensed to National Geographic by Digital Railroad, along with the option and permission for the international editions of National Geographic Kids to reuse the image in their editions (in the same story). *Our Turkish NGK edition later picked up the story for the March 2009 issue, but we quickly found out that Digital Railroad had completely shut down when we contacted them for billing. *We have been unable to find any photographer associated with this image until we recently came across your name. *If this is indeed your image, I am hoping you can grant permission and send an invoice for the amount below for publication in the Turkish NG Kids edition:

Nice to hear a positive story about a photographer being tracked down to be paid

Whoo!

Despite what every said about that guy who got paid 30 bucks for the Time cover... The fact that you're on/in a prestigious magazine's awesome.

Get paid, even better.

Well done, Jim!

If Digital Railroad hadn't been shut down, would you still have gotten paid for that image?

BTW, good that they tracked you down.
