histograms

hi not really sure this is the right place for this question but here goes.

I use a canon 40d and use photoshop for editing my pics when i load the pics the histogram on photoshop is very different to the one on camera.
Is this a common oddity or just me many thanks if you can help.

There is more than one type of histogram. From memory most cameras use an RGB historgram which shows the combined RGB values at each pixel. Lightroom uses a colour histogram which shows each of the colour channels separately and I assume photoshop does the same.
