I must have gotten a lemon, cuz if not then a whole lot of people are super delusional about these darn Mac's !!

Hopefully this can go in again and get fixed without having to wait over 3 weeks for the part to come in. After having the display crap out, now the trackpad has died. Also, over the weekend PS started crashing every single time I tried to save anything. Just got off the phone w/support and they said it's the machine not the user ... doesn't that make me feel better ?? ggrrrrr

Still not real happy that I bought this spiffy new 17" macbook pro less then 6 months ago.

What?!

Not the glorious Apple!? They never have any issues at all! They have magical hardware that never breaks just like every other computer in the world! NO NOT APPLE! They never have issues because they are made of fairy dust and angel farts!

I agree with you, most people have a very 'rose colored' view of Apple. They make a good product, but they aren't that great.

Sounds like a lemon to me. I *abuse* my 15" MBP, and it's yet to crap on me in almost a year.

I've always thought Apple to be extremely overpriced for the features they provide. Seems like you're paying the difference to be part of the 'cool kids with white toys' club. People always harp on the dependabilty but the dell x300 notebook I bought used on ebay hasn't given me a problem in the past 3 years. And my creative labs mp3 player hasn't caught me on fire over the past 5 years either...

and this joke gets better ... I called the Apple Store near me to schedule the repairs and they now have my machine as being owned by James Taylor !!! sigh ...

I called customer relations and got a hold of a girl who has now scheduled the repairs on it. If anything breaks again on this machine, she is going to have it replaced no questions asked !! The funny part is that I was on the phone with her when the local Apple store called to tell me that I was JT !! Luckily she didn't find it funny !

The whole premise of Apple is that "it just works" and I paid a lot of freaking money for that! However this machine just doesn't work and has broken far quicker then any PC I have had.
