Cool going to vancouver, any suggestions?

hey everyone,

i'm heading off to vancouver on saturday with the family for vacation, we'll be heading off to whistler and victoria island.

i was wondering, if anyone could recommend any special places for wonderful landscape photography?? cuz it's something i've been meaning to get to do, and i figure this would be a good time to experiment with landscapes?

also, any recommended lenses? i'm still on my kit lens, and was wondering if it's worth the squeeze to pick up a wide angle lens? and if so, i have a canon rebel, any suggestions for affordable wide angles??

thanks guys!!

Get a picture of someone saying the word "hoser" and I'll give you the other half of this magical amulet!

Sorry, I'm not familar with Vancouver, but I'd love to go there.

As for lenses, did you ever think of renting one? If not, and you want to buy, what is your budget? I used my kit lens as my wide angle for a few years, and it did a decent job. It probably isn't worth buying something in haste for one trip.

Stanley Park has a variety of scenery and some good views of the city. Whistler is great, too - be sure to leave yourself extra time on the drive up to stop for photos along the water!

If you're not sure about the wide angle, you could rent one for the trip and see how you like it.
