Default ATTENTION! CALLING ALL DPS'rs from WV,KY and surrounding

I was thinking maybe about getting a group of DPS'rs together at either Grayson Lake or maybe Carter Caves in Kentucky (halfway from Charleston & Lexington) for some group photo shooting and a chance to learn and teach each other tips and tricks.
If anyone would be interested in doing this please post in this thread and we will see if we can all agree on a date and time and location. Maybe we can do this every few months or so and have a chance to get to know each other and have fun out shooting.
Personally I vote for the caves I have wanted to shoot in the caves FOREVER!!!!
I went in them when I was about 7 or 8 years old and remember they were BEAUTIFUL!!!!

I'm interested in going to the Carter Caves, have you ever been before? What's the lighting like inside? Carter Caves is about 6 hours away from me so it would have to be on a Saturday if I could make it out there.

Drive down Friday and stay in a hotel, shoot Saturday, drive back Sunday.

I was there back in the early 80's and from what I remember the caves we went into were all lit up with different color lights and it was bright enough for photo's. Now they also have some caves that I call "Do It Yourself" where there is no guide and lighting so you must take your own. I DON'T think we'll be doing those caves LOL.
Yes it will be on a weekend for sure.

From their website:

The largest cave on the park. Cascade Cave is noted for its large chambers and many beautiful cave formations. A highlight of the tour is a 30-foot high underground waterfall. Special features include the Lake Room’s reflecting pool; the Cathedral in North Cave; and the Dance Hall, where a previous owner held weekly dances. Cave tours: approximately 75 minutes, ¾-mile long, easy terrain with exception of over 250 stairs throughout the cave. Tours available year-round.

Looks awesome to me hopefully we can get some more interest for this. I would love to go but probably wouldn't make the long drive if it's just 1 or 2 people.

I Live in Des Moines and have my own plane. I'd be happy to share expenses with 1-2 folks in my area or on the way, if anyone is interested.

I'm from NE Ohio, but I'm traveling to Lexington this Friday! I'm sure nothing is going to come together that fast, but if there is something in the future that I can work into my schedule, I'd love to do it.

We just went to Mammoth cave on vacation in June, last year we went to Diamond Cavern and Kentucky Down Under.

Hey, put me in the loop. Depending on when you want to do it. I have a thing for going on photowalks. I think the caves would be a killer spot to try out some off camera flashes.
