I'm self-taught...never took any classes...though that doesn't mean I never will. Of course like the rest of you, I read a lot of books, get tips from Google, and most importantly, I learn bunches from DPS!

When you were homeschooled and broke, there is no formal education for you! I'd like to take a course or two, but at this point I have no money or time.

I've taken a couple of classes and have read tons on the Internet and have read several books. I'd like to do some more classes as it's cool to meet others who share the passion. A weekend workshop or two sounds fun as well.

Default Self-taught

Like most everyone else I'm self-taught. However, you'd think that as pitiful as my shots are and having done either film or digital off and on for 30 years, I'd break down and take a class or two!

Pretty much self-taught - which is to say, no formal classes. I've read a bunch of books, read a bunch of articles on the internet, and DPS, but beyond that ...

Which isn't to say that I wouldn't like to take a formal class or two, but it also comes down to time & money for me.

Self-taught. Not saying I'll never find myself in an actual classroom, but for now I like learning at my own pace with books and internet sites. It's easier and much more accessible.

Default tried self taught, trying classes

I have tried to teach myself, and for some stuff I've done great (ok, some of it is just luck), but when it comes to all the technical stuff, I am breaking down and taking some on-line classes.

Ultimately, I need someone to show me hands on because my memory, quite honestly, sucks. Unless I do it over and over, forget it (pun intended). And I am sure most of you know if you can't set your settings as easily as breathing you tend to miss the shot while you are trying to remember the apeture, the shutter speed etc.

Sometimes I get very frustrated, but I know I can master this because it is something I love to do.

Well like most of you, at the moment I am self taught, but I am really hoping and am pretty sure I will be doing some sort of photography class next year.

There is just so much to learn!
