Default Post Production Software

A lot of post production work involves Photoshop and now I see there is Lightroom...I also was checking out a program called Capture One 4. I can't afford any of these. I have Photoshop Elements 2 but it doesn't support RAW photos - at least it doesn't seem to be able to "see" my RAW files.

I have Zoombrowser from Canon that came with my camera, and Picasa 3. But that's about it.

How can I perform these great modifications? Is there some other bit of software that would help me out here?

Thanks.

Roger

DPP should have also came with your camera. It will convert RAW to usable formats.

DPP stands for Digital Photo Professional if you were looking for it on one of the CDs that came with the camera.
