Default Guided tour needed.

Hello Everyone!
I'm new to this site and though I find it very interesting and stimulating, I also find it very confusing, as there is so much of it.

Can someone help me out with the following:

I posted a reply to a picture in the present machinery competition and the reply ended up under a totally unrelated photograph. I tried again, clicking the 'quick reply' button and the reply ended up under my own entry in this competition. Where do I go wrong?

My entries end up as thumbnails. How can I make sure they are full size and more easily visible?

Where do I find the winning entries of previous competitions?

I'm sure the answers must be somewhere on the site, but I haven't been able to find them.

Thanks for the trouble!

Reinardina.

You can even edit the quote, for brevity, though I don't always do that.

Thanks Quo Fan, it cetainly made things a lot clearer as far as the 'place of postings' is concerned!
On other sites I've visited, replies are attached to the post in question when you click the reply button. I assumed it would be the same here; you live and learn!

Hi Reinardina, you got some of the answers you were looking for (I think ) But here are some more answers.

If you're using an attachment, that's why they're thumbnails. You can use the Albums feature on the forums (You can find it in your User CP) and then use the BBCode that's on the picture page. Or you can use a site like Flickr which lets you upload larger images (less compressed) and also lets you post in different sizes. I prefer Flickr.

You can find the winners of the previous competitions in two places. The most up to date place to find the winners is on the DPS Blog around 12pm GMT Saturday. The winners are always announced in the Weekend Update. The other place you can find the winners is in the http://digital-photography-school.co...5-winners.html thread.

Hi Nicole,
Thank you for your answers, things are a lot clearer now. I'll dive into the album feature and see what I can do with them.
Regards,
Reinardina.

.html[/url] thread.
I opened an album, especially for Assignments, as I do not have a Flickr or other photo site album.
When I want to upload a picture, I am asked for the URL (not the BBCode) and when I copy the URL from my album photo, I still end up with a thumbnail.

Someone (I'm sorry, I've forgotten who it was) advised me to use the 'Insert Image' link featured above and this is the way I managed to upload two pictures in the past, but that does not work any more. I end up with the famous empty picture frame with the red cross.

Can someone please take me through the procedure step by step?

Sorry to be so dim witted, but I simply cannot get the hang of it.
