Question Light room sub folders

Hi.
Somehow I have folders in LR that are, for example, named, 2008-23-07 which may have 20 photo's. I then have a sub folder beneath this, again as an example, which is named Thursday. This sub folder has the same 20 pictures in it. As a house keeping exercise I only need the main folder, but I can not find out how to "move up" the sub folder. Drag and drop does not work. Right click, remove, does not give me the option to promote sub folders.

Any thoughts please.

I'm no expert but what I would do is re-import the pictures in order to get what I want and delete the unecessary without choosing the option to actually delete the file on your hard-drive (so basically just the copy of it in LR).

Select the images (not the folder) in grid view in Library mode. Drag them to the top level folder and delete the sub-folders.

To prevent this in the future, check your import options and select the one that gives you the results you are looking for. LR is only importing that way because you selected one of the "by date" options.

Glad to help.

I slap myself silly when I forget to select "into one folder" when I start up a new catalog.
