Size Advice

I'm going to the beach for a week and can't wait to take 100's of photos. I usually take my photos of Jpeg Fine - Large for almost all occasions, except the softball tournaments. I take them on Jpeg Fine - Medium because then I don't have to resize to upload to the team Myspace.

Why question for you guys is this: I can get more photos using the Medium format, but don't wont to lose any picture quality if I get something I might want to print in a 8x10. Will going from large to medium effect it that much?

Always shoot at the highest quality possible. If you need lower resolution or more compressed images there a bunch of free programs out there that can do that for you and you still have the high quality original if needed.

It will matter more to shoot at the largest RESOLUTION (pixel dimensions) than at the highest QUALITY (compression level).

I almost always shoot at 10 MP medium quality jpegs (quality level about 85% or 90%, depending). I find no noticeable visual difference in the results, onscreen nor in prints.
