Default Question

Hello DPS....hoping to get an answer to my question before it is gone.....I know I should probally know more about equipment then I do but here is the question....will a Vivitar Camera Flash 3500 fit or work with my sony a350 camera, and if so what would this flash be worth in good condition ? appriciate all the help Thanks.

Sony uses a abnormal shaped hotshoe which means that any flash with a standard hotshoe mount will not work. Their little way for forcing you to buy their products. Just like that stupid memory stick that they did.

3500 should be ok, the trigger voltage ranges in 4-7V, so as long as the camera's hotshoe can take that and the flash's hotshoe is standard, all you'd need is an adapter for the Sony hotshoe.

There's a car company, i cant remember which, that uses only proprietary head-bolt designs for it's fasteners. No slot-heads, star-heads or square-heads... it's like a 3-pointed star with one arm longer than the others or something. Just so that you cant do any work on it yourself. Might be VW.
