Default Disneyland Electrical Parade

I should have posted this about a week ago, since we'll be leaving Tuesday for Disneyland, and I plan to take pictures of the Main Street Electrical Parade. I want to stick with my Pentax 18-55 DAL lens so as not to miss anything while trying to change to the 50-200 DAL lens. Any suggestions about ISO, f-stops, etc. would be greatly appreciated, as it will probably be a very long time before we return to Disneyland. Thanks all for your suggestions.

I shot this with a point n shoot a long time ago; pictures were kinda unusable.

Bring a tripod if you can.

You'll want the fastest shutter speed possible. 1/30 is MAYBE ok. 1/60th and up is better.

iso: Highest
aperture: largest (smallest number)

Monopod may work better for this instead of having to lug a tripod around. I've seen a few videos of this parade and it looks like you could get a ton of really sweet pictures, I wouldn't want to be tied down by a tripod even if it could result in a sharper image. I think bumping your iso up and using a large aperture with a monopod should be a pretty nice compromise.

We were there in December and all I did was pop up the ISO a bit and the pics were fine. I hand held them all as even the monopod was cumbersome to carry around and there are so many people all cramming around you that it was easier for me. The pictures are perfectly fine to blow up to hang and just in the scrap books.

Thanks, all! If I have anything really interesting other than the usual, I'll post them here.

If you do a quick search for "Disneyland Electrical Parade" on Welcome to Flickr - Photo Sharing you'll find a shedload of examples of (fabulous) pictures of the Electrical Parade - if you have a proper look at the best ones, you can check out the Exif data attached to each picture, and see what settings each photographer used to get them, which will give you good pointers on how to get similar results.

That's my little tip for having an idea in advance of what settings to use for particular situations that I'm not used to - I find similar things on Flickr, and check out the Exif data.
