Default Bigger = Better??

Thanks for looking, I have not really found much info on this. Anyway, the question is: Does the size memory card (2gb, 4gb, 8gb, etc.) have any impact on how fast the camera records images? I know bigger stores more, but does it affect speed? Thanks in advance!

Generally, storage size has no effect on speed. Some early Canon DSLRs (up through, say, the 10D and Digital Rebel 300D) are noticeably slower above 2GB.

Speed ratings are separate from storage sizes. For CF most manufacturers use an "X" rating for speed (133x, etc.) while SanDisk classifies theirs into normal, Ultra II, Extreme III, and Extreme IV. For SDHC there is the class rating (2, 4, 6) but many manufacturers produce cards far in excess of the minimum class 6 speed of 6 megabytes/second. For xD cards the M+ cards are faster than the M cards (or maybe I should say "not as slow as" the M cards). I don't know about Sony Memory Stick.

Particularly for SDHC, it's harder to find the same class/speed ratings in the larger sizes than in the smaller ones. Class 6 2GB are plentiful, class 6 32GB is almost impossible to find.
