Smile New camera, I'm back!

Hello every one! I'm so glad to be back to the photography world. I was gone because my little point and shoot wasn't enough to satisfy my creativity which is probably normal after using it for about 4 years and after working in a photo studio using the huge Finepix S3 and S5, too big in comparison to my little Powershot S3 IS.

So my new toy is a Canon EOS 50D with a EF-S 18-200mm IS lens. And now that I bought my first DSLR, the next step is to... buy more stuff! My next little project is to get a ND filter, and actually that is my question for you guys: do you recommend a brand for this kind of filter? Any tips?. I want one of these filters because I want to learn long daylight exposure photography, so I guess this filter is the first step.

Well, thank you for your answers and for reading this post and please take a look at some of the stuff that I posted before here in this forum, these are some of my photos that I took with my old S3 IS:

Have a good one!

Congratulations on getting the new camera. I use Cokin. The graduated filters can be moved around so that the line isn't right in the middle. Your website is a little visually irritating. The pictures are nice though.

Congradulations on your new camera. But be careful buying gear is very addictive. Besides my sig. I also am expecting in a Benro c269 carbon fiber tripod today. I also use filters I have the Cokin holder but bought Hi Tech filters. I was told they scratch less. Good luck and have fun.

The conkin filter holding system is pretty nice for what you want to do. I would look into that as well. Otherwise B+W makes excellent filters as well as the pro1 line from Hoya.

Thank you guys for all the tips, Cokin seems to be pretty popular so I'll consider that brand.

The S3 and S5 are really only a [small] battery grip away from the 50D and probably only weigh an oz or two more. Oh well: they're great cameras

Oh yeah, totally agree with that. Those cameras are really good cameras, was a really nice experience to work with those, I was just comparing them with my little tiny Powershot S3 IS.
