Default Philadelphia skyline, need a good vantage point

So I am in Philadelphia for the weekend and am looking to get some good night skyline shots. I dont know the area real well, so can anyone recommend some good places to go to get some good night skyline shots? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. :-)

Don't know how adventurous you want to be, but.....If you can drive yourself to the Camden (New Jersey) Aquarium, you will get incredible shots. I live not far from there and have gotten some awesome skyline shots. It'll take you about 10 minutes from Center City to the Aquarium by car. (You actually want to go behind the aquarium donw into Wiggins Park) You'll be right on the border of the Delaware River, which provides nice reflection shots, there are Restaurant and cruise boats in the Delaware, and at night the Ben Franklin Bridge is lit up. I don't think there is a better place for Philadelphia skyline shots. Have a great weeknd. Peace. Charlie

I've heard photographers taking risk. But Camden?! With gear? I don't know about that.
Boathouse row would be my first choice.

The Camden aquarium view is nice (as is the view of the Battleship New Jersey). The view of the city from the Art Museum steps (think Rocky) is pretty darn good... but you will need a wide angle to get all of it. Also, if you walk to the other side of the Art Museum you get a great view of Boathouse Row.

I don't think the view from Boathouse Row is good for a city-scape shot... It actually get they skyline you want to be on the other side of the river. Best bet would be to pull a car over while going northbound on 76 (schuylkill expressway) right across from boathouse row. Be warned, I would rank that as slightly more dangerous than going to Camden.

If you are looking for things to photograph during the day, Don't forget Eastern State Penitentiary. I think it's a better tour than Alcatraz.

Enjoy
