Default Export Metadata as text from Aperture (RAW img)

I'm trying to find a good way to share my img metadata from aperture when posting to these forum from Aperture (2.1.3). It appears that raw image metadata is blank in aperture when exported because it is kept separately*, anyone have any hints, tips or scripts?

Thanks,

Mike

There should be a box that is ticked when you're exporting your jpgs that says "Include metadata" that one should be checked if it isn't. If that is checked and your images still don't have the metadata, how are you uploading it and to where? Directly to the forums or to Flickr?

exporting to jpgs with metadata works just fine.

I'm trying to export the metadata to a text file for copy/paste into a forum entry to show exif data about the shot. For example, here's what I'd like to be able to cut and paste into a forum entry:
Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/750)
Aperture: f/4.8
Focal Length: 23 mm
ISO Speed: 100
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: Off, Did not fire
(actually want to add camera, etc too)

Thanks for the quick reply!

Mike

Ahhh, gotcha. Right. Hmmm, that's a good question. I'm guessing you don't want to go the Flickr route, but that information shows up on a page with the photo that you can just copy and paste easily.

There is a way to export metadata using Automator (see here). Is that easier? I don't know. It seems that it only exports in comma or tab delineated format, but that's not too bad. Might work for you.

Automator is the route I've ended up taking. There is one piece of valuable metadata missing from the "Export Metadata" action, "Lens Model".

For those looking to do the same thing, here's what I did:
1. Aperture: "Get Selected Images"
2. Aperture: "Filter for Picks"
3. Aperture: "Extract Metadata"
- Select the data you want to have in your posting
- set the "Output" to "Text Block"
4. "Copy to Clipboard"
5. "Show Growl Notification" (or your notification action of choice)

Then paste into your forum entry and you're all set!
