First - congrats on your 1,000 Post!

I guess the moral of this story is to always test a new memory card through a full cycle of format, take picts, download, import before using for real work.

Default Camera cards not formatting

I myself have had a similar problem
I bought a 2GB highspeed SD card for my camera as I do a lot of fast shots, and in the camera it says do you want to format it and I click yes,
then when I remove and placed in my computer card slot or card reader it says this card is not formatted, and do you want to format it ,and doing so will erase anything on it,
So I am at a loss as what to do. Is this because it is a high speed card or something else?

This is the one - if you buy a Sandisk card (not sure if all models) you get a copy...

One quick question - is it an SD card or an SDHC card? If it is SDHC, it could be that your camera recognises it, but your computers current reader doesn't.

Another good bit of software is Image Rescue from Lexar, which you can download free here.
