Default Clouds: Part duex

Had to make my own deal about clouds. Go check them out

Just started to "blog"... i feel so Euro! Never blogged before, hope I'm doing it right LOL

Quote:
Ya know, it’s weird. Ever since I picked up a camera I’ve been watching the skies. I noticed things more often now, especially the skies. There’s something satisfying about a fun cloud day. And something completely and utterly annoying about a day with no clouds. Sure, the sun is cool and everything, but the sun wouldn’t be squat without clouds.

Clouds give us shade and life giving rain. What has the sun ever done for us? Give us sunburns and makes us squint at things. That’s no life to live. But, big fluffy clouds, those big white or whitish-grey floating bags of moisture seem to glide effortlessly over head at 35,000 feet.

*Attention* This is your captain speaking – We will be reaching our cruising altitude amongst the clouds. Killer.

I often talk to my wife and during our pleasantries of speech she asks me how I am and and I get to say, “it’s a good cloud day!” and I mean it! There’s just something better about a day when the clouds are doing something fun. I’m not just talking about those cumulonimbus jobs either, that’s snobby. I love a good mixture, give me some cirrus, nimbo-stratus and what the hell, throw in some alto-stratus just for good measure.

I implore you to watch the skies, watch them scuttle about painfully slow across the horizon, for that will be the last time you see that cloud. Then and only then will you feel the true meaning of impermanence.

Wow! I'm impressed. That's so ethereal....both the photography and the words. I've had my nose stuck so close to the ground looking at flowers, thinking of macros, and so forth that I've forgotten to enjoy the clouds and harken back to times when we would just lay on our backs and watch them. Time to look up!

Great shot. I'm like you, I'm constantly taking pics of clouds too. I've got quite a collection now.

Years ago I was a glider pilot, and in soaring you must learn to watch the clouds. They tell you so much. I agree a cloudless sky is O.K. for sun worshippers, but give me nice colection of clouds and a brisk wind to roll them along. I love your picture!!!
