I have a meeting in the next few days with an art studio locally. They saw a photo of mine in a newspaper contest I won. They now want to buy a copy of this photo to hang as art in their studio and want to sell it for me. This is a first for me.
Once I got over the compliment.. I began to think about it. How much do i sell it for. (I know this is a very vague question). Maybe someone that has a little experience in this area can help guide me throught this. I don't want to look like an amateur but don't want to ask too much. The photo is of a landscape in the sunlight and it turned out amazing. It is really nothing special, just a great capture. Please help. Any comments will be greatly appreciated! |

One piece of general advice is to look at local galleries -- theirs and others -- for pieces of similar style, size, and presentation. That will give you an idea of the local going rate for similar photographs.

That you guys for the advice. It did help give me a little confidence. I just got out of the meeting and we agreed to $100 plus they will pay for the enlargment. So, my first sale! WOOHOO!! Thanks again!

Congrats on the sale!
I'm curious to see what they price it as. Let us know, and let us know when it sells! Would you mind posting it here? I'd love to see it, and I'm sure a lot of other folks would as well. |

My post about my price was to an individual per print for their house. Unframed. |
