Default Anyone with a Nikon D200 AND David Busch's Field Guide...I have a question

I have recently upgraded my camera from the D40 to the D200 and been practicing, as well as pouring over the Digital Field Guide. I noticed, on page 85, under the heading Fine-tuning...and I quote "Hold down the metering mode button on the top of the camera, and spin the main command dial to switch among matrix, center-weighted, or spot metering." I for the life of me, can not figure this out. The MODE button changes P, S, M etc modes when you spin that dial. Now near the top of the camera, and on the back is the switch for metering, and I have it set to spot, then set the camera' s function button to change it to matrix.

But I was hoping maybe someone, with the same/similar camera has read this book and maybe knows something I am missing here? TIA!!

There is a metering button the D200, i believe it's near the shutter button. You hold that and turn the command wheel.

You can do the same with the WB, ISO, etc buttons on the back too.

I see the mode button, it says in the guide it is a metering mode button. That you use to set Program, Manual etc. I guess, I am thinking metering, in terms of spot, matrix and center-weighted...is the word metering used to mean both? I thought the previous was modes of shooting...?
