Default Good spot to take pics in Disney Animal Kingdom

Next week me and my wife are going to Orlando. We had the choice to go to any Disney Park, but I selected Animal Kindom with the idea of taking some pictures of wild animals.
I have been to the park before, but never with the sole purpose of photographing animals.

If you know any good spot in the park, or have any suggestion that will improve my chances of taking good shots of the animals in the park, please let me know. I have been at the local zoo and because of the distance that separates you from the animals, plus the cage, glass enclosures, etc, sometimes it is very difficult to take good pictures.

Head for the safari ride first thing ... some of the animals will still either be feeding or wandering around. I got some decent enough shots from there. Over near the Everest Expedition is a monkey exhibit that in Dec had some very entertaining and photogenic babies. Near the entrance/exit there are good bird opportunities. If you dont hit the safari right off, get a fast pass it is one of the rides there that fills really fast.

In all honesty, it is MY OPINION (and goodness what that is worth) that while the AK is a decent enough park it is not marvelous for real animal pics. I was going through my pics from that trip not to long ago and I didn't have that many at all. The tree of life is a pretty central item, that to me was absolutely fascinating, but not real. You didn't mention any kids, which if you don't have any this is again IMO not the best adult park.

However, I could have been preoccupied with getting on the Everest Ride that day too. I hope you get some great shots and have a wonderful time. If you get a chance, Bush Gardens is IMO much better then AK. But, again, depends on what you are geared to.

There is a Disney website that has a photography forum that is geared towards taking photos at Disney World here: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=97

From my own experience, it is the most photogenic park, with Disney's Hollywood Studios a close second. There is the Kilimanjaro Safari Ride with a variety of animals all in special but open enclosures, the Pangani Forest Trail also with a large variety of animals including an open air enclosure of large fruit bats and a bird area as well. The Maharajah Jungle Trek also has some lovely animals, including tigers.

Animal Kingdom has a lot of very adult attractions, and is so well designed that there are photographic opportunities everywhere you look. Enjoy your trip!

Default Thanks for the tips

I did manage to take some decent pictures. Since we didn't take the kids, we had enought time to stop at all the animal attractions and focus on the photos rather than the rides.

The one with a glass enclosures were the most challeging one, with the reflexion and distorsion of the glass

Here are some of the pictures, the rest are in my flickr account
