I think you need to do 2 things.

1 - Reduce the clutter on the main page.. too much to look at.
2 - Be more discriminating when you post pictures... posting every picture you take doesn't highlight you best work. It created more work for me when I was looking for car photos for example... 19 pages?!? Really? That's ridiculous. Of those I saw I would have narrowed it down to roughly 10-15 great photos. I only saw a handful that I would use in my portfolio.

What is the website for? Posting photos for family and friends, showing off to the world or trying to make some money?

For me there really is no reason to visit the site. If it were just to view the photos I would want to see them much bigger on the home page.

Yeah, what is the purpose of your site?

What is the blog trying to achieve? It doesn't look like it would achieve any business benefits, looks great for personal though.

Either way, I think you need to add a light background colour to the sidebar to help the eye seperate the main content. Something like "background: #e7e7e7" to #sidebar in the css will make a huge difference. You'll then notice that the top and left side of the sidebar has no padding, so change the padding to "padding: 10px 10px 25px;" and she'll be apples - Of course that does take some of the space between content blocks, I'd also bump the main content across 10-20px to make up for it

Also, might want to work on branding, it's a bit bland...

Cheers

I'm gonna echo the "too busy" vibe here...

Also, the grid on the home page is a bit broken and this grates on me subconsciously. It's nothing bad but it just sort of niggles at you.

Read up on grid-based design and see what you can do with what you have. Personally, I'd drop the B&W photo in the top left corner. It steals focus from the content and I found myself wondering whether the navigation was the actual content as that was the direction my eyes went ...

well this isn't a portfolio page, more like a "my life" blog full of photos that I take. if it was portfolio, I would use flash and put up 10 best photos per category... this is more like my personal space for hosting photos.

btw, with huge traffic, I had around 20K visitors last month.

Site structure is like this: Usually photos are posted under categories.

U mentioned car photos they are here: http://www.sandrophoto.com/category/car-photography/

if u want to see draft photos for the cars u go here: http://www.sandrophoto.com/digital-p...hy/car-photos/ which is unstructured. If you read the description it says:
Quote:
This page contains raw material for all my car photo posts, to see organized content head over to Car Photography.
