Default Portrait Touch Up Software

I ran across a software product named Portrait Professional Version 9 - I downloaded the trail version and it seems to work pretty well - anyone here using it?

I have Adobe Lightroom 2.x and Photoshop 7 as well - the above product made the touch ups pretty easy. Pros and Cons would be appreciated....

Why not learn how to touch up images with photoshop 7? You should be able to do everything that program can do plus more. No sense in wasting money - at least I think so.

Default Portrait Touch Up Software

Thanks for the suggestion - I already use both LR 2 and PS 7 for doing touch ups on portraits and it can be time consuming. Portrait Professional Studio Version 9 will work as a plug in with PS (not sure about LR) and is a time saver from what I can see.

Anyone else have any thoughts on the product?

I downloaded it, tried it out and didn't like it. I might not have given it a real chance, but it didn't look natural to me.

I found the trial to be limited, so I borrowed a friend's full copy and liked it. I don't use it full-blown though. I dial it back on the changes it makes so it looks more natural. Sometimes if I have a face that really needs a TON of touching up, I'll use this application instead of drudging through it myself in Photoshop.

My rule of thumb is not to use it on anyone younger than 25 or older than 50. Young folk don't need the smoothing as much and it can look horrifically unnatural on them, even if they do have a lot of acne. Older than 50 and you're running into wrinkle land. Why reverse what nature forces on us? It only looks crazy unnatural in those situations.

Default Portrait Pro Suite

Okay so I finally got around to using the demo of Portrail Professional and then jumped off the deep end and bought the Suite product which hooks into Adobe Lr - at least for me it is everything they promise it would be. After playing for a while I've added my own profiles to turn down some of the adjustments it does and it sure does make touch up of portraits quick and easy. While no place close to being a pro, I've been working on taking protraits of people at work and then running them through the product. Everyone so far has liked the results (and they just aren't saying ot to be nice). A number of ladies here went as far as to have the photos framed and gave them to their husbands as presents!!

Cheers!!

I tried the demo version on about half a dozen different pictures and all came out looking like some sort "The Hills Have Eyes" family portraits. Even after making adjustments they still looked "goofy". Pretty much deleted the demo after a day of playin' around with it.
