Default And you think my feedback is brutal?

This is feedback left for me on another photog website.

I posted these pictures just so you know what they are talking about: Gave myself a photo shoot

I'm not going to post the site as I'm not looking for sympathy, I'm posting this to show what honest feedback looks like!!

Quote:
Nice car I don't think I would need an excuse to drive it.
1. I wonder if you moved the car forward a little you would have gotten some more of that nice light on the bottom half of the car? As it is the bottom half is too dark. The front needs some light also. All the detail is lost. Maybe some flash or use a reflector.

2. Bottom half too dark. Was this shot Mid day? The signs on the wall need to go.

3. Pretty dark/flat.. Detail of the body curves lost.

4. Youv'e shot the shadow side of the car. The background is too busy. My eyes focus on the transformer and the pole sticking out of the roof not the car.

5. Nice detail shot. Is the color that dark of a blue?

6. Not enough light.

This is just my opinion. I would be interested in seeing what the other board members have to say.

I sure like the car.

Overall, the photos don't do a lot for me. For the most part, the blue of the car is over processed to the point of being a distraction. The best composition is #4 but the background is not very pleasing. The rest suffer from center-syndrome.

#5, is a dynamite shot. I really like the look of this image... good detail, good composition. It works.

I'm getting a purple-heavy tint on the first shot in that latest batch. Doesn't quite site with the rest of the set.

Those comments would be ok if they came from a microstock forum, where stock is a very different animal from art photography. In stock photography technique is the mandatory requirement : Correct exposure-no hard shadows-even lighting-correct white balance-and rule of thirds. Regards, Ken

I've seen people get way harsher comments on another site I hang out on.

Are you sure you were looking thru the right end of the camera when you took that?

My 90 year old blind Grand Mother could have shot that better.

Have you ever thought about taking up bowling as a hobby instead of photography?

Your short, fat, and ugly as a dogs ###, no way you'll ever make a dime being a model.

I think you'd have better luck being a prostitute.

Righteous car and pictures.

Some of those comments remind me of when I was taking my photography class. The instructor was brutal ("What were you thinking?", "This is a mess." "Boring. Just boring."), and some of the younger students were scared off. I got an "A", and figured my skin thickened about a nanometer as well. She was tickled to hear that I took 2nd Place in the county fair's photo exhibit.

I think I saw the post what I will say is did agree with some of the comments I take all critism on board but when it is destructive (see above quotes from someone) they are merely someone hiding behind net anonymity what I would say is look again at the pics now you have read them ... I did with some you commented on a while back and found I agreed after the mist cleared LOL .. they were helpful tips rather than harsh to be fair LOL. ahhhh Karma

Still a nice car though !

Personally I did not say the things I wanted to as I am no pro (ie put up or shut up) I do not know you yo or how sensitive people can be here so I hold back some unless they are in critique. I give my opinion as someone who would be paying the photographer/ for the pics. not the photographer (for now).. I know you guys have improved my work imeasurably which makes me come back to share.
