Question Bad weather apparel?

I was wondering if some of you might have special clothing for inclement weather. I've been wearing jeans, but they're hot and certainly not water-proof and when they get wet they're like second skin.

I've looked at various rain pants, but can't decide on durability/functionality versus price.

Any input is appreciated!

Wear shorts... your skin is waterproof. All our local postmen wear shorts even in the winter to avoid having to wear wet trousers.

Or do you have an army surplus shop nearby?

Go to your local camping/hiking sort of store and they should have some goretex outers to wear over your pants. Waterproof, breathable and comfy, but they are bloody expensive. You can find knock off goretex that is still breathable, but not as thin and comfy, heaps cheaper though.

Well I'm going to be getting a camera condom, and my equipment bag is rain resistant. Shooting during the rain isn't really what I'm looking to be doing though. I'm more looking to shoot shortly after a rainstorm, or early in the morning and wandering through the landscape while it's still wet is what I'm trying to work around. I've got good shoes that keep my feet dry, and a good jacket, but the pants is what I'm looking into.

No Natural Fibres.

I know it may seem counter intuitive: cotton breathes better than anything. However, it also absorbs more moisture and retains it better. Synthetics can wick it away better.
