Default Why are my photos so dark?

Please, if you can, let me know what I can do to improve. The pictures look fine on my monitor at home. They print fairly decent. But when I post to flickr, they seem so dark. Many details are lost because of this. If you have time, check my flickr photos and see if you can diagnose what the problem may be. Thanks for your help.

Are you wearing those new auto darkening contact lenses?

I looked over your flickr and didn't see any that were really dark. Could you maybe say which ones you wanted looked at.

On a side note this almost seems like a ploy to get people to look at your flickr account.

You'll have to provide examples: everything I saw was fairly well exposed. A few might have been a bit under, but certainly less than a stop.

Glancing through it, I didn't see any that were heavily underexposed. You might want to look into getting a monitor calibrator as it could be that your monitor is at fault. I think the Pantone Heuy is fairly inexpensive and I've read good reviews of it. I myself use the Spyder 3 Elite because it has a few more bells and whistles.

Default thanks for the replys

Sorry, this isn't a ploy to get flickr attention. Although it does seem like it. At home I have a new gateway computer with an "HD" monitor. When I view pictures there, they look nice and bright with vivid colors. When I go to other computers (usually CRT or other LCD monitors) the colors really look dull. I didn't know if my monitor was too bright. I'll definately be getting a monitor calibrator now. Thanks!

Do they look different on the same monitor???

If so it is probably a colour space issue?

Or are you looking at flickr on another computer?

If so then all monitors display completely different pictures, calibrate so you're getting the right picture.

To me it looks great!
