Default Can DSLR survive X-ray scan

Hi

I just want to ask, can a DSLR survive an X-ray scan. The one usually done at the airport security check. I read that that some security scanning will fried the memory disk.

Thank you

Mine were fine after the airport scans, and the memory card was in the camera.

I think it does destroy film. Thats why if you got a film camera you should keep the film separate and not let them scan it.

the type of rays emitted by an airport scanner won't do much to much unless you're carrying 800+ film. (Unless there is something wrong with the scanner and it cooks you)

Totally harmless to digital stuffs (98% of the time)

Yep so keep a count of when you reach 98 scans, those last 2 will be the killer!

X-Rays used to be a problem with film (and still are: I still ask for film to be inspected manually), but it's fine for digital. I always have my camera gear with my as a carry-on so it gets scanned everytime i go though security.

Hah! But as long as you don't take your DSLR with you those 2 times, you'll be good for another 98 scans.

The last few times I asked for my film to be inspected manually they would not do it.

Take your film out of the containers and put in clear plastic bags. This saves them from having to open and inspect each container.
