Yay! Keep up the nerdy opinions We need people on both sides of the poll lol And I fully agree that for me, sometimes those perfectly shot indoor shots give way more satisfaction.

With a small sensor camera (powershot s3is) I need all the light I can get - and here the sun is unbeatable (and I like the fresh air).

The sun just puts out better light than anything artificial.

I've heard of this "sun"... they tell me it's something that appears in the sky when it's not raining. I had a rare encounter viewing it on Saturday, but it has not reappeared since then Ok, ok, I'm just sick of the rain the last few days...

I 'prefer' to take photos indoors for all of the reasons already mentioned by other posters.

I tend, though, to take most of my photos outdoors. I've got 4 active kids and since I seem to spend my life chasing around after them on their many and varied sports, outings, and trips, I don't get a lot of time to do what I prefer

I voted outdoors because I find the natural light better for photos because I'm finding it hard to get the correct light indoors at the moment.

I think I prefer outdoors, as photography is often seen as a moment of frozen time. So with nature, it is never exactly the same again. When you are indoors, you tend to be taking photos of people or events, and if a shot is lost, you can (theoretically) reset the people and take it again. Of course, you can stage people outdoors to recreate a previous setting as well. Then again, my disinterest in posed shots lends itself better to outdoor settings.

I love shooting both outdoors and indoors, but if I had to choose one, I'd choose indoors. You have complete control over lighting, (lack of) wind, positioning of subjects, background, and you aren't affected by the weather.

Default Outdoors Usually

Outdoors is when more things happen and more things are. Sometimes I have persued a moth ot butterfly inside but that is the rarity. A walking stick was on my keyboard last week however. Flowers and sunsets are generally outside
