Default Best online stores

Hi everyone,

I am after some recommendations for online stores. I'm in the market for some filters and thought I would compare the prices online to the stores.

Thanks in advance.

Adorama, without question. I recently purchased an expensive lens, had it about 3 weeks and it just wasn't working for me. They accepted it back, FULL refund, with original packaging of course. I opted for store credit instead of a refund as I had a nice little shopping list since the other lens I was looking at was half the cost of the one I was returning.

I got a different lens and another 580EX II and a couple of other things. I listed what I wanted on the return, along with the prices listed on their site. They processed the return and new order very quickly and I was very surprised to see they charged me reduced sales pricing on my items, saving me over a hundred bucks.

I've been shopping from them for three years now and I have always been satisfied. I don't even bother to look elsewhere. I know that if I have a problem with an order I'll be taken care of. Competive pricing too.

Thanks for that! Both websites look great.

I think I may have found some filters, but I'm not 100% sure. I'm a beginner and have a Canon EOS 450D I am thinking of buying the Hoya 58mm Introductory Filter Kit. It has Ultraviolet (UV), Circular Polarizer, Warming Filter (Intensifier) and Nylon Pouch and the reviews say they are great filters.

Do you think it's a good buy for a newbie?

Mpex.com also has a good reputation through out the strobist community. I have a larger order with them now.

Unless you have no access to any type of pp software, I think the only useful filter in that list is the circular polarizer.

I like B&H Photo because since I work for Disney and it is a preferred vendor and I get a discount and a discount on shipping.

I notice you're in here Oz and all the sites mentioned above are in the States. Just be sure to check on international postage costs and of course the state of the Aussie dollar (pretty good at the moment)

For Aussie sites I only know of Camera Warehouse and Ted's

I've got no idea how prices compare to the US sites though?

Cheers

try www.ebay.com.au
(tons of stuff there.. you just need to know what to look for in the junk)

i recently bought some stuff from:
www.gadgetinfinity.com
(based in HongKong.. but shipping price was very very low.. and so were the sale prices IMHO)
great communication.. the stuff hasnt arrived yet.. but customer service was great.
