Default Photography Schools-Online...?

Ok so i want to have a small business in photography in the future. (currently in high school) I was wondering if anyone could help direct me in the area of like online photography courses that would maybe give me some kind of certificate saying that im certified. basically i have taken all the photo classes i can at my high school (photo 1- 4/ independent photo study) and im the head photographer in yearbook, and will be the head photo editor in the school newspaper next year. I just want to know if there is anything i can take online that would like say i have a degree in photography. Thanks for the help and suggestions!

Do you actually want to learn, or do you just want a piece of paper?

I've been looking for classes online and "offline" lately just because I need to learn more about the settings of my camera and such. For my purposes, I am just taking the class to learn though. Don't really care about a certificate of any kind. I searched local college websites and what I found in my area was that any actual photography classes for college credit required several prerequisite classes in art in general. I didn't find any local workshops offered where I could take a hands-on, in the classroom, class. I did find one online class but all you get is a certificate of completion. Some online classes offer a certificate of achievement. This one only offers a certificate of completion so from what I gather, it just tells someone that you finished the course, not that you really learned anything from it. So, all that being said, I have decided to try the online course anyway. I'm really clueless about photography as I have never had ANY classes in it and I figure for me it's a good place to start. For you though, you've already had some classes so I don't think you'd learn a lot from this particular class and like I said, you're not going to get anything that really proves you had any training. I'd contact some of the junior colleges in your area to see if they offer any workshops or something and see what kind of certificate they offer. So, that was probably way more info than you wanted but maybe it helped some. Good luck!

Sounds like you might already know a bit? I'd say either go to university and get a proper degree in Photography to get a "proper" piece of paper. I imagine most of the online courses wouldn't be anywhere near as respected as a Uni.

Or if like me you're much of a Uni type, do a course in Business Management! If your photography skills are already good, just get together a portfolio and go out chasing work. In my opinion learning how to successfully manage your business will put you in a better place to make money.
