Default spent the day in the ER

Yup the kids couldn't make it to day 3 without a visit to the ER.... we found out my 15 year old is allergic to wasp ~ the hard way LOL

He will be fine and they sent him home with a bunch of meds... I am supposed to watch him close and if he can't breathe I am supposed to bring him back in ASAP

As he is 15 and not a baby we all took the adventure with a sense of humor! I TRIED sooooo hard to get him to let me take photos of all of the swelling but ...errr.... he did the teenage version of flipping mom off LMAO

Oh and the doc told him ..and I quote ... "I really don't advise you to get stung by wasp anymore..."
My smart ass son? "Yeah, I think I am going to avoid getting stung in the future. Thanks Doc"

Scary stuff! So glad all worked out OK and he will be fine. Yeah, just avoid the wasps, like he was asking for it the first time?
I was in the ER with my 5 yo daughter and a rising fever of 103.6 (with Tylenol) a couple weeks ago. Turned out to be Tonsillitis. Go figure. She is fine now that the antibiotics did there thing.
Wishing you all nothing but good health!

Thanks. Yeah the doc wasn't the sharpest crayon in the box LOL
He is doing better this morning. I just had the hardest time remembering if this was the first time he had ever been stung by a wasp (he is 15)~ LOL from what he and I can remember it was the first time.

Sorry you had to deal with that, but glad your son (with a good sense of humor) should be fine. What a way to start the summer!

So, did ya have a margarita or 2 when you got home?

Neah but I thought about it LOL
I am not a drinker but a day spent in the ER with your kid is grounds for margarita hour ~ I wanted to be at my best watching him in case he stopped breathing or his throat swelled during the night. Adult drinks always make me extremely sleepy!

Not the most auspicious start to the summer. Personally, I think your son was in line after such an asinine comment from the doctor. Geez, I would have wanted to hit him after that.

I am glad that he is doing better and am hoping that is your last er trip this season

No kidding ~ we didn't make it to day 3 of summer vacation before we had our first ER visit

In our house that was, quite litterally, a single-finger salute.

Brook, from what I've heard from you, this is only the FIRST ER visit of summer vacation, LOL! Oh, sweetie, I feel your pain. Good luck and I really hope the rest of the summer goes without injury/sickness/whatever they can put you through!

Sounds like "Tim" from "Home Improvement"...........

I am raising boys ~ I swear they have no common sense and no fear of anything! We usually end up in the ER 3 or 4 times a summer for stitches, broken arms/fingers... the wasp sting was a new one for me
MY middle son wrecked his bike this afternoon and his leg and knee are skinned up pretty bad ~ from shin to thigh! No ER visit but I made sure to get my frustrations out on him with the use of rubbing alcohol and lots of it got to make sure those wounds are clean LOL
