Default So I am in NYC.

Hey guys, so I have been traveling for the last 20 days and found myself in NYC for a day. I met this lady here who is wanting to get into photography and asked me for two things. One she wants me to show her a good store in NYC to look at/try/buy a camera and she wants me to go with her around town and shoot and teach her a little on using a DSLR. So my question for all you readers is where is the best store in NYC and where would be a good, no cliche, place to go shooting? Thanks to all ahead of time!

Yeah! I heard a lot of good about that store. That's where we will probably head to.

Just about anywhere you are in the city is a good place to shoot! Of course though, there's Central Park, Times Square, Brooklyn Bridge.

I believe Adorama is a good store to visit as well, but I've never been there myself.

The Roof Garden at the Metropolitan Musuem on 5th is a pretty darn cool spot. Should be lots of good photo ops - sculptures, people, buildings, etc.

You need to see St Patrick's Cathedral!

and you must buy a Grays Papaya Dog (hot dog) near the Empire State Building!

Alright so I was only there for a day, but I was able to go see the Roof Garden. That was so crazy. I will post some of the photos I had taken later (most likely just on flickr). Then we went to the B&H Photo Superstore. Man that place was like heaven haha. Couldn't buy anything though, too broke but it was a lot of fun and thanks for all the suggestions!
