Default redneck camera chuckle UPDATE on the Dillo WARS

The set up:
5AM in Southeast Louisiana ~ both hubby and I are awoken by whining dogs wanting to be let out. I get up (as usual) and let the dumb things out. While I was out there I noticed an armadillo in our yard!

I brought the dogs back in the house and ran to my room to grab my shoes! Hubby heard all of the commotion I was making and *sort of* woke up and asked me what I was doing. I told him there was an armadillo in our yard and I wanted to *shoot* him... then I ran outside.

Not 5 minutes later my husband comes out back to join me.
"When you said you were going to shoot armadillo's I got all excited! I should have known better"

Yup I had my camera in hand laying down in the grass shooting an armadillo at 5am. I haven't downloaded the pics yet but I thought some of you would get a kick out of it!

Shooting armadillos with a canon. Sounds like a redneck sport to me.

Just a few weeks ago I was doing a lot of armadillo shooting too.

Sadly I wasn't using a camera thou. Those things will sure do a job on your yard, and landscaping.

Yes, they are horrid little creatures! That's why my husband was excited when he heard I was *shooting one* LOL
See, I am a HUGE animal lover if you haven't read my other posts...

I refuse to let him shoot them with a gun! I make him use gloves, catch them, put them in a box and drive them to a remote location for release... yeah my hubby really really loves me big time! LOL
He knows if he kills one, he will have to deal with me bawling, not speaking to him and making him dig a grave and have a funeral so relocating it is just easier for him .... except when he has to catch a super fast one then it takes all my power NOT to giggle or cheer the little thing on hahahaha that might be just WAY too much for my husband to handle

My wife likes to think she does all the landscaping around here......she just plans it, and tell me what she wants done.

It was her who told me I had to do get rid of them. Being a gun nut, it was my first choice. I hate to shoot the things, because I feel their just doing what they have to do, and they were here before we built this house. We do have a lot of woods where they have the option to hunt, and their safe over there too.

I wont even kill the snakes that LOVE to hang out in my yard, except for the water moccasins.

Nice shot by the way, but man those things are ugly.

Sounds like our house ~ I point and hubby does the grunt work

The kids' and I have named our new pet "Fred".... that went over well for my hubby LOL
He said Fred has to move out or pay rent LOL

He and my 2 sons are making a plan of action to catch the little guy tonight and release him into the wild ... ohhhh the photo ops I shall have with 1 grown man and 2 half grown men running around my yard trying to catch poor Fred! My daughter and I will be in the wings cheering poor little Fred on ... ohhh yeah I see some great photo ops tonight

I might just have to pull out the BIG SDHC card for this redneck event LOL

Thumbs up

Love the photograph of your new pet. Coming from Scotland we never get the chance to see such exotic animals in nature. Although should hear my wife when theres a spider in the house.
The nearest I have to wildlife is the family of frogs, so these are the only things I have to remove from the garden for her. They tend to come back though as i don't take them that far!!

Best of luck with the Armadillo
