I have the sigma version of this lens (nikon fit)

Really enjoy using it, find it hard to manage at 2.8 though but thats my in-experience.

Have fun and dont forget to post some shots!

I'm not trying to be crass here, but honestly.... there's NO comparison between the Sigma and the Nikon VR version.

The sharpness and color replication is outstanding on the Nikon. The sigma... not so much. Plus you have VR, sigma.. no go.

Yea I gotta agree with you on that. There's a reason the Nikon is almost $1000 more. I was comparing all of the fast telezooms in this range, and quickly narrowed it to just Nikons; the 80-200 and 70-200.

Congrats on seriously killer lens.

I wanted one, but settled on the Nikon 80-200 f/2.8

I'd thought about buying 3rd party lens a few times, but the old saying "You get what you pay for" always comes to mind.

Yea, and I feel it's especially true when it comes to lenses. I have the tamron 17-50mm f2.8. Great lens for $450. But it's no where near the nikon 17-55 f2.8. So I figured I'd go all out for the next lens.
