Now to slip into a coma temporarily...

WoW! Grats! I'm still lusting after one. With all the money I've spent on a good tripod, books, and other photography related gear, it's going to be awhile before I can snag a 70-300.

Havent had much of a chance to test it out, but it's.... BIG.

I had tried it out on my D80 a few months ago, as a sort of precursor to this whole thing. It seemed fine. I had been using my 18-200 alot at the time, and so the weight/size difference was fairly negligible. However, I sold the 18-200 to get the 70-300, so I had gotten used to using my 18-70 (much smaller, light) or my 50mm, and had spent considerable time with my FE (which is like, 1/4 the size of my D80+grip). So, the 70-300, mounted or not, is a BIG lens.

I dont know how the pros hand-hold 300 and 400mm f/2.8 lenses for periods of time. I'd be dead by the end of it.

EDIT: Got out tonight with it. There was a small fair thing in a parking lot nearby. Setup the camera up on a tripod.
