I have had this exact same problem several times over the past few months (Firefox 3 as well, but on OS X -- and using other browsers works fine). The first time, simply quitting Firefox worked. The second time was much more persistent. Inexplicably, the solution which finally worked was to delete all cookies from *.digital-photography-school.com. For some reason, this has cleared things up perfectly. I hope to heaven that b5media isn't using cookies to decide whether an error should be shown. If it works for you, we may have some sort of reasonable complaint.

Download this, it is called CCLEANER it deletes all the garbage you dont need, such as cookies, temp files, etc.... Run it at least once a day. This should cure your problem. I had the same problem before, with FF3, and after running this i never had the problem again. I think what the problem was, FF cache was full and cookies as well and the comp. wasn't able to process anything correctly cuz all the garbage. I assume. But what i can say for sure, is that after running CCLEANER i never had the temporarily unavailable page again

That worked for me dcclark. I only know a little about the how the internet/computers work, relatively speaking, but I couldn't see how a cookie would cause that problem, so I didn't try that. Strange.
And thanks for the link freybear, but I'm afraid I can't use that program as I'm using linux as an OS and not windows. |

Not to be mean, but the OP clearly stated that he's running Ubuntu, and the app you posted is Windows only. Also, the OP has a pretty clear idea of what he's doing -- blindly deleting all of your browser related files (1) doesn't help you figure out exactly what caused the problems, because you've nuked everything, and (2) will slow you down, because caches are there for a very good reason.
I still recommend the surgical cookie removal, at least on my own anecdotal evidence.

I had a problem with firefox last week. Not cosistent but every now and then it would freeze. I deleted firefox and re installed and that seems to have cured the problem. Was it fire fox (I,ve never had aproblem before) was it the server, or my computer. As my computer literate son says"It happens, that's computers...accept it!"

I use Firefox 3 on the forums from either OSX 10.4 or Ubuntu 8.04 and haven't seen the problem yet. If it does hit me, I'll take a closer look at the cookies and see if I can figure it out.

I've had this problem a couple of times... most often it occurs only when clicking threads that are marked as having new posts.
Sorry I can't help with a solution, but extra information might help someone cleverer than me ![]() Oh, and deleting cookies helped...
