Default Thanks for sharing my email address with a spammer DPS!

I've been looking for the ToS and Privacy Policy where I agreed to let DPS to share my email address and other contact information with spammers, but I can't find it anywhere. Is it the policy of DPS to share personal contact information with third parties without permission?

I'm curious what exactly happened, since this has never happened to me. Did you use an email address to register for the forums, which you haven't used anywhere else?

Actually, I use custom email addresses for everything I sign up for, but in this case it's not so subtle. The guy sending the email says that he got the contact information from Darren Rowse at DPS. I've unsubscribed from that guy's crap, but since I never opted in to sharing my information with him, I have no idea how he's going to use it.

I think this is odd too. I have never received an spam that was related in any way to DPS. Something is not right about what you received. It smells fishy to me.

Ditto...and if its an email address for DPS only, and not your main email, is it really a big deal?
I've never had a DPS spam issue, so it definitely sounds fishy to me as well

Never had a problem with my email account and spam, and I've been signed up here for quite a while, with my main email address (as opposed to my mail-list hotmail account). I've never received one piece of spam from anyone to the account on here. I really doubt that Darren Rowse would just start handing out email addresses. Sounds odd.

It sounds like the right thing to do is to contact Darren directly, as opposed to posting a thread here.

One thought: did he send you a private message via the forums, and you were notified (with the message contents) via email?

That's really odd, I've never seen anything like that. Have you entered any of the contests to win a bag or camera or whatever? What is the company spamming?

Have you contacted Darren through the website? http://digital-photography-school.co...ography-school
