Default Vancouver Gigapixel

Just thought I would share this Gigapixel picture. click on the picture to zoom right in. You can zoom to look into the windows of the apartments.

Wow,
that must have taken a lot of photoshopping.. notice nobody is fully visable.. only bits of people behind trees or obscured by yacht masts.
Lots of photoshopping... or they have some super smart method i cant understand.

I vote for lots of photoshopping. Lots.

and lots.

That is probably why they only have 4 pictures on the site. If you saw the giga pixel image that was done of the obama inorguration it had hundreds of stiching errors and lots of expsoure issues. To get those four images right must have been very difficult (and not just obscuing the faces!)

thats what i was thinking.. good grief. the exposure and blending of the exposures must have been a nightmere.

Just think of the issues it would cause if someone switch of their lights between one of the exposures on a join! Also it appears to be taken at twilight, how did they get the sky to match up? The light must have changed in the time it takes to snap all of those shots!

Here's a 222MP picture of Machu Picchu, Peru, that I have seen quite some time back. If I remember correctly, the photographer had explained the procedure for taking this picture somewhere within his site. Its heavy stitching and postprocessing with a large number of shots.
