Default Hi everyone!

Howdy! I just joined this community today though I have been reading and looking at everything for a week now.
I have always loved taking pictures. I have been told I take great ones but not at ANY level I have seen here LOL
On Mother's day I got a new camera from my kids. Its a canon G10. I am completely NOT ready for a DSLR just yet ~ but I would like to learn how to better my skills and get more into the artistic side of photography.

I am hoping that mere beginners are encouraged here
As I said I IN NO way can compete with the vast majority on here but I would like to get help and suggestions on what I am working on.

anyway ~ just wanted to give a shout out and make sure even the newest of new photographers were welcomed to post and share photos

Hello and welcome to the forums. Be sure to ask questions if you are confused about something. There are a lot of very helpful people on the forums and a lot of good information. Feel free to share images for critique and critique other people's images as well. Good luck and have fun.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome.
I just didn't want to have stones thrown at me due to my level of photography
Example of my experience ~ this weekend I worked on the macro setting for the very first time. I take lots of kid/pet photos~ your typical family photo album type items. I would LOVE to learn how to do more!

Thanks again everyone!

Hi Praline...welcome to dPS. You will enjoy your time here, it's very addictive! Post away and share your shots...critique other works and post your own for critique. There's loads of great information in this forum. It took me over a month just to read through old posts because there was such great info.
