Default Why didnt I stop???

On my drive out to Lake Havasu on Friday evening, I witnessed a fantastic moon rise in the middle of the Mojave over craggy rocks with a hint of orange cast from the recently set sun. I failed to pull over in our "rush" to get to our destination, should have stopped and grabbed a few before my napping family knew what I was up to.

Sigh...

One of the reasons I dont think I would ever live full time in the States again. Too much of a rat race.

Not really when I am in the states I always get together with my friends for lunch or dinner etc. and they are always in a rush to do something. Can't just relax and enjoy. I didn't notice it when I was living there because I was the same way. But now that I have been living the Caribbean island life for a couple of years I totally see the difference.

true..we're always in a hurry to get somewhere. But don't fret. You saw the moment and will be able to shoot it next full moon.

If, I could live elsewhere, I'd move back to the Azores in a heartbeat.

Ooh that leads nicely into a quote from Ferris Bueller :

"Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."

Sage words indeed.

I cant tell you how many times I have done just that. Especially on a road trip somehwere and cant go back. My husband gets quite annoyed with me and the longer we are married the more I dont care and do it anyway.lol
Havasu is gorgeous area. I have a friend who loves there and my child and her kids live in Kingman, not far from there at all

No doubt. I had *intended* to take a short drive the next evening to a spot not far from Havasu city with stunning red rocks, but that would have required giving up relaxing time socializing with good friends.

Moral of the story: Take the shot that is given to you.

Don't sweat it, moon shots are hard and need more that a quick snap by the side of the road, so unless you had all the gear and are very experinced it probably wouldn't have come out like you remember anyway. Better to let it live in memory than be late and still not get the shot!
