Default Mmmnnn.... smells like spam!

I've noticed a significant increase in the number of spam postings on this board over the past couple of days. In particular, there have been several accounts set up to post pointless replies to bump up existing threads... and to include one or more links to external websites (often nothing to do with photography).

What should you do if you see one? Don't click on the link - it could lead to stuff that could damage your computer. I also suspect that every click back pushes DPS up the ranks of sites these spammers think it is worth attacking.

Do use the "report" button to let the moderators know though (with the pink rectangle near the top right of each post) - we will check the post out and, if it smells of spam, zap it (and the poster) straight away.

Thanks,

Wulf

I think I need something more than a shiny whistle to alert authorities.

damn. i thought you were going to talk about the actual food spam. it doesn't taste that bad if it's cooked. i actually had a spam sandwich when visiting hawaii last year. it was pretty good but i can't see eating it all the time or i'd have some very high blood pressure from all the salt.

wait, is my post considered spam since it has nothing to do with what wulf was talking about?

Thanks for the info. Whenever I see some spam post I wonder what to do other than replying it with a "SPAM" on the post. Now I know what to do.

Back in the 80's, there was a bar in Madison that had "Spam Jams" every once in a while. Great bands! All sponsored by the original Spam. Usually big names on their way down. They would set out trays with Spam sandwiches. I usually stayed away from the sandwiches but 1 night I had a few to many brews in Me & decided to snatch a sandwich for the walk back to my car. BIG MISTAKE!!! Man!! I could taste that crap for days afterwards!!

You have obvioulsy never had fried spam, instant mashed potato (smash) and baked beans, all cooked on a camp stove. Food of champions and nothing can beat it whislt sheltering from the rain on a damp British campsite!

Raw spam, not so good.

What? Not that type of spam? Oh yeah don't click on the links! And don't hijack threads please!
