Default Is their opinion really the question?

Sounds like the old saying, "What came first, the chicken or the egg?"

Who cares? As long as I get my scrambled eggs for breakfast, my chicken sandwich for lunch and my Hot Wings for dinner.....I don't care.

Bottom line, it is what YOU take from the opinions that matters.

like said.. photographers are good to criticize or comments for the improvement. But this being an art, an non-photographer should understand and appreciate your photo

All critism is good .. what I would say is bear in mind everyone has a "taste" and some have strong opinions on things ... I take what people say on board but also note the way it is said soem seem£jealous" and determined to undermine confidence to me constructive critism is better the destructive that is best ignored ....

Personally I think of it this way Great a Pro thinks your work is amazing but the "public" sdon't whio is it you are selling to in the end ? Find what your clents like your market is etc etc learn what they need/ want and success looms go for Peer perfection ultimately you will be frustrated ... what I am trying to say is you cannot please all people all the time . I am no pro but I know a nice pic when I see it I can see when soemone has made minor mistaes uin things is my opinion less than a pro pointing out the same mistakes No but some will pay more credence to the pro whilst ignoring me. to me that uis pandering to peer

a good point.. haha "are they just trying to make me feel like I'm not good enough?" But again, critiques are subjective and you have to take most things with a grain of salt.. I like that you said you cant please everyone, and at the same time SOMEONE will like your picture, even if you are that someone.

Always remember if you are doing it for fun when the fun stops you are trying to hard. If you are doing it for aliving when you just know you captured osmethign right the moment you see it on your screen ... that is all we want from this is it not? the gasps of delight from a client or the wow from family.

criticism and opinions are good......from both photographers and non-photographers alike.
Both groups have different ways of thinking and seeing.
