Default Taking slow...deep breaths

Well, this is going to be a month/year of firsts for me, which is ironic because it's all happening on the first of May and June.

Today I'm going out and to sign the lease for my first apartment. It will be the first time I'm more than an hour from home. I'll also be moving in with my boyfriend, who will be my first roommate since my second year of college (I'm a first year grad).

I'm also doing semi-ok finding actual career jobs in my major rather than working as a cashier (my own personal bit of hell right there).

And finally, I think my first apartment pet that is not a dog (dogs aren't allowed in the building, cats are) will be a hedgehog. Hedgehogs are noctournal so they'll be awake when my boyfriend and I get home.

I should stop telling people I'm getting this apartment and actually get dressed to go. I'm scared though, because this is the first (hehheh) time my mom or stepfather isn't a breath behind me explaining everything down to me or arguing the agreement on something for me.

You can do it! Living on your own is very pleasant.

Eh, I din't end up liking Apartment 1. My boyfriend feels claustrophobic in my 9x8 dorm and the apartment bedroom is somehow smaller. Plus, I just didn't feel safe being alone in the area when the guy turned his back for a second. I felt like the person that dies in the first 20 seconds of Law and Order. I was told to look north of the school's area and not south. Places are supposedly much nicer for around the same price.

Ended up putting the pictures on flickr so my family can look at the pictures.

I got the apartment I fell in love with a few days later. I just checked my e-mail and it turns out they sent me the acceptance e-mail within an hour of me handing in my final papers. Thank goodness, tomorrow I was going to go to the other apartment near by and pay the $200 application fee!
