Default OMG! I'm pubished!!!

Recently I received a call from the Tulsa Philbrook Museum's art director. She had been looking thru Flickr pictures and saw the set I did at the Philbrook on the day before Easter. She said they loved all my photos and asked for permission to use one of them in an upcoming ad:http://www.tulsaworld.com/twpdfs/200...3009_ES_19.PDF

Since this is my first photo that has been published, I didn't ask for any fees or even recognition, but now I'm wondering what to do next. What if someone else wants another photo? Should I charge and where would I even start to find out how much to charge? Can you guys help me?

BTW, I am just excited that someone loves my pictures and don't really care if I ever receive anything for it, but to me, there's a deeper principle involved. I think I should charge something because I don't think anyone who takes fantastic pictures of something should not be able to receive compensation for thier ability to portray it to the general public>

In other words, the photographer should be reimbursed for their time, trouble and there artistic ability. So, where can you direct me to start?

One last thing, the art director for the Philbrook really did a fantastic job of advertizng using my original picture by croping and turning it black and white. Here's the original:

You might want to make that picture a little smaller. I think that it looks like a nice relaxing day in the park though.

nope, it's still too large. 800 on the long side please
Congrats on being published. Just ALWAYS make sure if you are not being paid that they are not making any money either and that you do get credit for your image

I would definitely want some recognition as well. I would help you out when explaining prices to a client. "What do you mean with that price? You haven't even been published." then you say "Yeah I have, this is my picture right here." If there isn't a photo credit then no one will know or care.
