Hello everyone,
As some of you remember, I have recently bought an old Pentax Program A film SLR camera with a Takumar-A 28-80 mm f3.5-4.5 zoom lens. I have so far used only one film, and it was some low quality 100 ISO film made in china, the first thing I had near me. I developed the film in a local photo lab and they also scanned it for me. I have read that this lens is not a very high quality piece of glass, and I think it lacks sharpness. I'm gonna show you some of the images scanned from the film, so you can evaluate them. - Firstly, this lens has MACRO written on it, and it does focus pretty close (at least in the viewfinder). These two images have been precisely focused in the viewfinder, but this is how they turned out: ![]() View full size And the other is at: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3406/...a7444069_b.jpg There were more than two macro images with the same crapy results. I guess it's macro is just not working. - Secondly, on the next four images you can see the lens' sharpness: ![]() View full size ![]() View full size ![]() View full size And the fourth one is here. On some of them it turned out good but on the first two in this post (the CNV000015 and CNV000020) it's not so good. I'm not sure why, maybe there was a shake while taking the picture, although none of them were shot with shutter speed slower than 1/60. Here's also one night shot, I think it turned out ok. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3306/...625156db_b.jpg So, what do you think about the results and my "new" piece of gear? You can see all the images on my Flickr account, they're the ones starting with CNV... P.S. All the images on Flickr are in full res., it's only around 1.2 MP, that's how the film was scanned, and no PP. |
